I m bhatt hemangini sunilbhai, having savings a/c with AXIS Bank since about eight years, No.058010100015260 with ur Vejalpur branch.
I deposited a cheque no.00003745 of 28.1.09 for Ra.9, 280/-(Rupees Nine thousand two hundred eighty only), drawn on UTI Bank in ATM counter near Dharnidhar Derasar, Ahmedabad on 11.2.09. On 12th I received a phone call on my mobile (I always used to write mobile number behind any cheque I deposit) No.9898447308 from ur ATM call centre that since on cheque name written is HEMA SUNILKUMAR BHATT the same cannot be credited to ur above account as the name in ur account in our records reads as HEMANGINI SUNILKUMAR BHATT. and that you can contact our Vejalpur Branch, from where u can collect back ur cheque at 2.30 p.m on 13.2.09. I said OK. On 13.2.09, I took leave from my job and visited ur Vejalpur Br. sharp at 2.20 p.m. and inquired on counter No.4 (Kushalbhai) about my return cheque. He inquired and said my cheque is not yet received from ATM call centre. I then inquired in ATM Call centre, who replied that their boy named Sanjay has already given ur cheque, alongwith other returned cheques to Vejalpur Branch at 12.oopm on 13.2.09. but Kushalbhai told me at 2.30 p.m. that the captioned cheque is not recd.by them? Ultilmately disappointedly I had to return home and the leave availed by me on 13th Feb was in vein. Sir, I requested Kushalbhai that I am serving in United India Insurance Co. Ltd. and is Dy. Manager and also a Signatory initial in ur Bank as our Salary account is with your Bank. I also told him that as a proof I can show other LIC receipts in which name written is HEMANGINI S BHATT and also driving licence. I can also give declaration that HEMA and HEMANGINI are the same persons and if any otherwise is found afterwards, I shall only be responsible. But all my requests were in vein. I was so disppointed that uptil now I had the highest regards with ur Bank but since yesterday, I feel like closing my individual account as well as Office account once and for all. On 14th I again phoned to Kushalbhai on 14th (today) at 12.00p.m, inquiring about whether my cheque instrument is now available with him or not? and if yes, if possible, kindly give me credit. He replied I will check whether it is possible and shall give u a ring. I waited till 12.45p.m and then phoned to him as he never turned up. He then replied that you collect the cheque as it is not possible to give credit as the name differs. So, I went to Bank and collected back my instrument. Sir, if he had returned me the instrument on 13th itself, I could have deposited on 14th with another Bank. But instead on 14th also he returned me the instrument only after 1.oo pm and hence I could not deposit on 14th also as banking hours were over. Such type of harrassment could not be tolerated. Now on Monday, I will have to request LIC to get the cheque changed in name of HEMANGINI S Bhatt, which will take another week and I will be deprived of the money which is already matured on 27th Jan.09. I am totally dissatisfied that when I am ready to give so much proof, I don't think there could be any difficulty in crediting the cheque in my account. I also told Kushalbhai on 13th that I wish to meet ur Manager concerned, but he replied that he is not available as he has gone out. I wish to close my saving account wef. 1.4.09 and I will not sit quite. I will tell all my colleagues to close their account with ur Bank.
