British Airways
Harassment

Sir/Madam,

I have gone through a horrible experience of my lifetime which I am mentioning below:

1. I was traveling from Toronto to Delhi on 21st June with three kids aged 5, 10 and 13 years vide reference no 3P7ZTO, 2I3GHY, YULIOV, X3QWY8,

2. Due to late arrival of BA098 at Heathrow, London, I missed my connecting flight BA143 to Delhi.

3. The BA Authorities then rescheduled my ticket and gave me some sort of slips and told to board Jet Airways scheduled to depart at 7.45 pm from terminal 3 on 22 June

4. When I went to check in for Jet Airways, they refused me to do so and said that BA people didn’t give any e ticket and neither their system is showing any reference. I asked what’s my mistake in that, the lady said its BA mistake but u have to go and get it rectified and that they r helpless

5. I along with the 3 kids with all the hand baggage went again to terminal 4, stood in long queue to go through the security check and then reached the BA people

6. BA people told that as its too late now, we reschedule your ticket to Virgin Atlantic scheduled for 9.55 pm the same day, but u have to run there in half an hour else u miss this.

7. I with the kids and luggage hurried to terminal 3 to reach Virgin Atlantic counter

8. Now, VA people said there is problem in one of your tickets and that its booked in Business class while the rest is in economy class and that to travel in this I have to deposit 2400 Pounds extra or get it corrected from BA

9. I, with no other option, again with all the luggage and kids went to terminal 4, stood in long queue, gone through the security check for the 3rd time and then reached BA people

10. I, with my folded hands pleaded them to do the things carefully as I was left with no courage, energy and patience to face these again and again

11. Now they rescheduled my ticket and gave me ticket for Air India to depart from terminal 3 at 12.30 pm, the next day. Along with this they gave me some coupon to stay in a hotel.

12. For this I had to go through the immigration officer, filled the necessary forms and finally got transit visa for 24 hrs

13. I being an alien to London, asked people here and there about the way to reach the hotel and found that I have to take taxi

14. I approached the taxi driver and asked if he could accept CADS or credit card but he flatly refused.

15. I then looked for any money exchanger and after 10-15 minutes of my exploration I found one exchanger which was closed.

16. I was tense for the kids as they were hungry and the time was going like anything and no shop was open from where I could buy something to eat. I shamelessly, knocked the window of money exchanger, he opened up and then thankfully gave me 23 pounds after taking 60 CADS from me

17. I paid 17 pounds to the taxi driver and reached the hotel somehow, spent 20 pounds to get connected to internet so as to inform the relatives who were so desperate back home

18. The next morning, as I was leaving for taking AI, the younger kid started complaining of severe stomachache and had 5-6 vomits. I was like blank. I dint know what to do now. There was no one to assist me and I didn’t know any doctor or hospital here. I lost all my confidence and patience and thought that may b this is my end and I won’t b able to reach Delhi anymore.

19. But after thinking for a while about these 3 kids that if I will lose what will happen to these kids, how will they go, what will they do, etc and then promised myself that I have to b bold enough

20. Finally, I after ignoring the kids hues and cry (I don’t know whether I was right) I proceeded for taking AI

21. I checked in AI after going through all the formalities and even after the kid’s pathetic condition, boarded the flight.

22.By the god’s grace, the kid’s condition didn’t deteriorate and remained like that at least and after long journey of approx 8 hrs, I landed at Delhi. One can imagine what must have been going in my mind during these hours.

23. After completing all the necessary requisites, I went to baggage claim section without knowing that I have something even worse in store for me waiting

24. None of the eight bags was there. I asked the authorities there who told me to lodge a complaint

25. While complaining, I was interviewed for long time about each and every details of the bag. They might not know how difficult it was for me to tell them the details after suffering such harassment as I already was puzzled. Anyways I somehow could fulfill the formalities and lodged the complaint

26. Meanwhile our relatives were tense outside the airport as we didn’t come out even after 3 hrs of landing of flight.

27. Finally we met after such a horrible, breathtaking, forgetful, and so on and so forth journey. Straightaway we took the kid to hospital where the doctor said the condition has been worsened and had it been late by 2-3 hrs, the consequences would have been severe.

28. It’s all because of the mistakes committed by the British Airways people; we had to suffer to such an extent. Can they ever know how difficult it’s to manage a kid of 5 yrs, who is away from their parents. Each and every passing second was increasing the problem for me exponentially.

29. I sent the complaint to customer services in India but to no avail.

30. I waited for so long and also that I was busy I couldn’t proceed further.

31. Now that I am back to Canada and is settled, I am sending my grievance to you.

32. Just to update you, I got 7 out of my 8 baggage and 1 of them s still missing

33. Our Baggage numbers were BA 125091, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98.

Please advise me accordingly
