I have a broadband connection from BSNL with home 250 plan. Due to non payment of bills it was disconnected for 25 days in october month. In this plan there is usage of 1GB free per month.

My usage was 760MB in five days for october month. My october bill shows very peculiar way of billing. The Monthly rental (Fixed) is reduced as pro rata basis for 5 days and My free usage is also reduced to 165MB. Remaining usage has been charged at the prevailing rate i.e. 90 paise/MB.

On the other hand if BSNL charges full rental and gives me free usage as per my plan i.e. 1GB/month my bill amount should not go that high.

Question is why free usage is pro-rated irrespective of whether my line is operational or not.

Its a free usage for a month not per day basis if i use broadband for 5 days in month or more is customer's choice.

I strongly feel this billing mechanism is not correct and is chaeting to customers.
