CARS India, Adyar, Chennai - Alto LXI
REPLACEMENT REQUIRED FOR A FAULTY ALTO LXI

Dear Sir/Madam,

JUSTICE REQUIRED - REPLACEMENT FOR A FAULTY ALTO LXI VEHICLE - CARS INDIA, CHENNAI

I purchased an ALTO LXI Model car bearing Regn. No. TN 09 AR 1109 during Sep'06 through CARS India, Cenatoph Road, Chennai. The vehicle gave some trouble with regard to Gear/Clutch on 30th Sep'07 - EXACTLY IN ONE YEAR - and I took it to CARS India's work shop at Adyar, Chennai the same day. Mr Purushotaman, the person who attended to the vehicle, got the entire Clutch Assembly changed and gave me the vehicle back the very same day - 30th Sep'07. The milage as on that day was a mere 11659 Kilometers. Chassis No. 759356 and the Invoce No. is BC07009453 dated 30.09.2007 for ZERO VALUE.

On 13th May'08, after 7 months and 12 days since the Clutch Assy. was changed, I got the same complaint and have given the vehicle to the SAME DEALER AND AT THE SAME WORK SHOP.

Some facts:

I bought a 800 DLX model in Mar'02 and exchanged it to THIS ALTO LXI during Sep'06 thru Maruti Truevalue only

I had used that earlier vehicle for 4 1/2 years and the vehicle had run close to 53000 Kilometers

That vehicle NEVER gave any such trouble BUT this one - TWICE IN THE SPAN OF LESS THAN 2 YEARS??!!

BOTH these vehicles self driven and by ME ALONE!

I was promised for an extended warranty, for 2 more years for this ALTO by the salesman Mr. Sriram. I spoke to (Mr Hemnath) CARS India Cenatoph Road Showroom just now and found that, the vehicle does not have extended warranty and I need to pay abut Rs.3000/- if I want the warranty to be extended for further 2 years. On 21st May'08, I paid Rs.5447/- towards extended warranty for further 2 years. When checked on 8th July I was told that, the card ws JUST couriered. I am yet to receive the Warranty Card.

Please go thru the series of mails to Maruti Customer Service (below this mail). Mr Srinivasan from Maruti visited my place on 30th June'08 and assured me to write back to my mail. He seems to be yet finding time to respond to my Email. Neither I received any response NOR I GOT THE FAULTY CARD ATTENDED TO.

Requirement:

Since this vehicle has given the same trouble twice, within two years, I honestly feel that, there is a genuine manufacturing defect and I would like to have this vehicle replaced with another vehicle! Hoping to resolve this issue in an amicable manner.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Warm Regards,

S Balasubramanian

Sir/Madam,

This a gentle second reminder about the difficiency in your service and malfunctioning of my Vehicle (Alto with Registration No. TN 09 AR 1109). As a customer I am yet to receive a solution from your god office.

The vehicle is still giving trouble which was explained to Mr Srinivasan during his visit lat week

I am yet to receive the Extended Warranty Card - I had paid an amount of Rs.5447/- on 21.05.2007. I was promised that, the Warranty Card would reach me within 15 days from the date of payment. We are on 49th day today!!??

I have been patiently waiting for your response but you do not seem to bother to respond. Your silence does not speak good about Customer Service.

Trust you would not require another reminder in this regard.

Awaiting your response in closure of the "difficiency" in my vehicle amicably and hope I would receive the Extended Warranty Card immediately.

Regards,

S Balasubramanian

Dear Sir/Madam,

Mr Srinivasan came and took a test drive on Monday - 30.06.3008. I had asked for a response to my mail as I was not convinced with his feedback after the test drive.

This a gentle reminder. Is there anyone to respond to my complaint? Please do not force me to take this up in the proper forum.

Regards,

Balasubramanian S

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is further to the telecon I had on June 14th with Mr Srinivasan of Maruti. He wanted to examin my vehicle himself (as the earlier 2 examinations were done by the dealer??!!) and we fixed the date as 19th June'08. But Mr Micheal from CARS India subsequently called stating that Mr Srinivasan was supposed to be in a meeting that day and he would meet me the following day, i.e June 20. We are now on June 26, and I am yet to hear from you on this.

I am sure you you would appreciate that I have been deligently following up with your people to resolve my request suitably and quickly. I do hope that this would receive your immediate attention and I will get my issues sorted out to my satisfaction.

You may not be interested, but still I want to bring it to your notice that this morning I could not use my vehicle and had to use the public transport..I am sure you will agree that Maruti wants its customers to be a satisfied lot and not subject them to the hardships and inconveniences that I have been put through; to say the least.

I do hope that a swift action will be taken from your end to amicably redress my case.

I also hope that I do not have to keep reminding you to do so or compel me to resort to any other means to resolve this long pending issue.

Last but not the least, there is NOT a single written response to my earlier mail (s) since 24th May'08.

Best regards,

S Balasubramanian

Sir/Mam,

Further to the below mail of mine, I received a call from Mr Michael of CARS India, Adyar, today. He said he would send someone to "see" the vehicle. As you are aware, they have seen and done some adjustments in my vehicle for consecutive 2 weeks. I do not see any point in them "seeing" the vehicle again and again.

You are aware of my requirement and request you to work on those lines.

Regards,

S Balasubramanian

Dear Sir,

You may recall my earlier email to you regarding my Alto car no TN 09 AR 1109 .which is under a two year warranty.(copy of my earlier mail is below this message for your reference).

I had the following issues:

the clutch plate had to be changed twice – first at 11000 kms and the second at 20800 kms;

there was a problem with the gear

the brakes had to be adjusted.

A humming sound emanated

After my mail to you, I received a call from the service center and was asked to bring the vehicle. I took my car again on May 31 and met one Mr. Arvind, the AGM. He test drove the vehicle; admitted that there were problems; identified the trouble points and had them rectified.

I still continued to have issues with point no 4 and had to take the vehicle once again on June 7 with additional issues of some noise while engaging clutch and sound in gear system. I was told by the staff who attended to my vehicle that, the gear noise would be taken care of during the next service.

You would appreciate that I cannot take my vehicle every week to your service center to have the problems rectified. I have already brought to your notice about the manufacturing defect in the vehicle and want it changed.

Would request you to take this up immediately and help me resolve the matter amicably, rather than me resorting to any other recourse under the law.

Regards,

S Balasubramanian
