Sir,
i am practicing lawyer at Ludhiana District Courts since 1999. I issued one cheque bearing no.312236 of Rs.3480/- in favour of Chawla Publications Pvt. Ltd. for the purchase of 12 volume set of RCR (Civil). This fact was duly mentioned at the other side of the cheque. The said cheque was handed over to one Mr. Tarloachan Singh, agent of Chawla Publications Pvt. Ltd., who use to come at Ludhiana to deliver books of Chawla Publications. The amount of Rs.3480/- has been debited form my account in favour of Chawla Publicatons Pvt. Ltd., but i have not yet received a single copy of the RCR (Civil) digest. I came to know that the my payment of Rs.3480/- have been adjusted by the Chawla Publications Pvt. Ltd. against pending arrears of said agent Tarlochan Singh. However, not a single copy of RCR (Civil) digest is made available to me by the said publications.
