Two year ago I bought a flat. Last week we came to know that previous owner didn't pay the property tax due to cheaque got bounced for an amount of ten thousand rupees. I kindly request you let me know what is procedure to take action against the seller (previous owner). I was not allowed to pay the current years tax due to this. I am not allowed to pay the current property tax due the above reasons. The tax collector told me to clear the last pending amount, then only the current property tax will be accepted.
