Hi,
I have been a customer with citibank for 5 years now, and i was holding a citibank gold credit card.
13 months ago, there was an outstanding of 2 lakhs on my account, which the bank offered to convert into an EMI for 24 months (charging me an extra interest, hence not a settlement) and close the card.
I agreed to the same, keeping in mind not to spoil my credit records with the bank.
A year later now, i have paid 13 EMI on time every month, however i came to know that CITIBANK has reported my name in CIBIL as a bad credit customer and has noted this balnce conversion to EMI, as a "WRITE OFF". During the EMI offer, i was never told that this would be considered as a write off.
Due to this, i have not been able to get any other loans or credit cards in the past year.
I have called their customer care a million times, spoken to a billion reps and have been told that my name is reflecting in their records as positivie, which is clearly not true.
I have no clue whom to contact or what to do, since i am about to apply from a home loan, and dont want it to get rejected on these false grounds.
Please advise.
