Dear team,

I did the biggest mistake by purchasing my Lenovo Laptop Sr # L-3 EC 579 06/12 Product ID # 0768A35 from Emall around year and a half back. First of all, the people at their service station E Garage has people who give pathetic service.

My laptop was working absolutely fine till an year without any errors. But then after an year, it got infected by some virus due to which the entire data got crashed. When I took it to e garage, they asked me for bill, which I produced. And to my shock, the person out there asks me "Sir, please provide the bill of this particular laptop. You have provided some other laptop's bill." What the hell? I just have only one laptop and this is it. Then they told me that they cannot repair it as it is not the bill of this laptop. I was asked to go to Emall again to check. I went there and described the entire scene. The staff themselves got confused. Then they found that there was data entry error or something due to which a different serial number was mentioned in the system.

Now, if a person buys a laptop from a big shop like yours, should'nt he trust that emall staff writes the correct number in the bill? Finally they rectified and I went again to E garage with the correct bill. The dark guy with spectacles was very uncourteous in service and behaved in such a rude fashion as if he has sworn to make customers realise that they had committed the biggest blunder in their life by buying laptop from emall.

He formatted the entire PC and gave it back to me w/o any software. Before taking the delivery, I asked him for the software. He said that I would be additionally charged for putting Office and XP. I said, OK, because I can not operate my laptop without it. So he charged some amount and got the laptop fixed.

Now, after some months, suddenly I get this message popping up on my screen "You may be a victim of software counterfeiting. This copy of windows does not pass genuine Windows validation." (Plz see the screenshot attached).

I went to Egarage again to show the same. The executive checked it and said that XP which is installed in the system is pirated and I need to pay around Rs 5000 to get genuine XP. Again, this was the shock of my life because it was him who put the XP in my laptop.

I told him that you only charged and installed XP when my PC was formatted. He said that "Sir, we always put pirated version. We put original only if the customer asks for it"

What the hell? Piracy is a crime. And people sell original softwares first, and then if customers ask for cheaper ones, then pirated softwares are sold. But here at Emall, first without informing the customer that we are installing pirated software in your laptop, emall executive gives pirated software to all the customers and installs original only if the customers ask. But by default, only pirated softwares are installed???

And the people at e mall are proud of doing such piracy. I told him "Atleast you should inform me that you are putting pirated software". I asked to put softwares into my laptop. You told that it would be chargable. I said, never mind, install them. Then what made you people think that you should install pirated softwares?

The person argued with me "Sir aapne jab laptop liya tab pirated hi daala hoga emall ne. Aapne abhi update kiya to windows ne detect kar liya". Bloody hell, what a stupid thing to say. Since the day one I am installing all the updates that microsoft is sending and since one and a half year microsoft had not detected that software is pirated. After getting service done from e garage, it has detected that the software is pirated.

Very proudly the executives told me "Sir, we always install pirated software. So you should not keep windows update on"

How openly are emall people doing crime of selling pirated softwares without even telling the customers that they are installing pirated softwares in their computers. I am going to take this to consumer forum and going to publish this information about the crime they are doing.

Just tell me one thing, why dont these cheaters inform the customers that they are installing pirated copies of softwares? If I am ready to spend Rs 50, 000 to purchase a laptop, why would I hesitate to spend yet other Rs 5, 000 to see that I get liacenced version of softwares and not fake softwares. But a customer will buy only if you tell him.By default if the customer asks for software, they install pirated version, without even being hesitated that they are not informing the customer that they are installing fake software in his system. Then after 2 years if the customer knows that when he got his laptop serviced, emall people cheated by installing pirated software, in such a case, why will the customer spend Rs 5000 now, when he has been cheated at every step by emall???

This is not acceptable at all.. And I am going to thake up this matter badly and let people know, how, under the shelter of big shop emall cheats innocent customers.

And how discourteous is the E mall staff. I am writing since last 2 days, but they are not replying.
