Sub: Complain against Batteries Back up
Sir,
We are having a 5 Kva UPS which are attached with 16 Nos. of lead sealed Exide batteries, 42ah in our company’s laboratories which gives backup to very costlier and imported lab instruments which play very vital role in our production process
The batteries were purchased on 23rd April and installed on 25th of April to our ups, it gave a good service for past 11 months and on 15th March we found the back up is too low this was informed to the UPS personnel’s, who attended our complain and found that one of the batteries are week and advised to replace it as soon as possible hence we replaced it with help of local Exide vendor on 21/3, after that the back up was quite satisfactory for one month and on 17th April we found the ups is giving low backup hence lodge a complain (complain no-EOUP00000437, dt-18/4) and it was replaced by a new battery on 21/4 and after installation of the new battery the Exide service person had again checked the backup and in serial checkup it was found that 2 batteries were giving abnormal reading and we were advised to lodge a complain to replace the 2 batteries, after 3 hours when our technical team checked the backup of the batteries it was found, the abnormality reading of batteries increased from 2nos to 8nos, hence we have lodge a fresh complain for replacement of 8 batteries (Complain No- EOUP00000442, dt-21/4).
We are at present having 5 UPS with same Exide bank capacity but the one which mentioned above is giving regular problem but other 4 UPS batteries are giving satisfactory service from past 2 to 3 years with out any trouble, hence kindly try to sort out our problem and do necessary arrangement to over come our problem, as the warrantee period of our batteries are going to expire in sort duration.
Also note that the Exide service personnel had found that the charging voltage is good.
