GILLETTEE INDIA LTD. / ORAL-B CRISSCROSS ACTION TOOTH BRUSH
EXCESS AMOUNT BEING CHARGED FROM CUSTOMERS

“Oral- B Cross Action” tooth brushes are being imported & packed by M/s Gillettee India Limited, SPA – 65 A, Bhiwadi Industrial Area, Bhawadi- 301019, Dist. Alwar (Rajasthan) in a single pack containing 2 tooth brushes.

On a Pack, containing two tooth brushes, Rs. 29 off has been offered on MRP (inclusive of taxes) by the company & on the back side of the same pack MRP Rs. 109 (inclusive of taxes) has also been mentioned. Hence Rs 80/- (Rs. 109 - 29 = 80) is chargeable to the customer.

Further, it has been clearly mentioned on the promotional pack that "Rs. 29/- off on two brushes" & on the back of the same pack it has been mentioned "Contents: 2 Tooth brushes"

Thus from the particulars given on the pack it is very clear that the MRP of two tooth brushes is Rs. 109/- & discount of Rs. 29/- is available "on the mentioned MRP of Rs. 109/-. After this offer, only Rs. 80/- is chargeable to the customers where as in the market, Rs. 109/- are being charged from the customer following the unfair trade practices.

Through various e-mails & discussions with Mr. Sandeep, Consumer Relations Representative, Procter & Gamble, the company has also been requested to confirm whether due benefit of the promotional offer of Rs. 29/- is being passed on to the customer, which is very doubtful as per the particulars / details given by the company on the said pack.

Now, the company has to ensure whether product being delivered by them to their dealers/ distributors /retailers on the fixed pricing structure is in line with the MRP & promotional offers made by the company so that due benefit is passed on to the end customer?

In the present case, it is important to know whether company has ensured the same, if so, then they should confirm at what price a customer should normally get this product. Whether at Rs. 109 or at Rs. 80 (109-29=80)?

By now, thousand of such brushes must have been sold in the market hence to understand the gravity of exploitation of the customer, if any, & to further protect the interest of the customers, I have asked for clarification from the company which has yet not been provided & as per the details available on the pack, the customer is not being given benefit of promotional offer of Rs. 29/ - off on the MRP of Rs. 109/-

I, therefore, request for your kind intervention in this very serious matter to protect the interest of the customers.

Your early response shall be highly appreciated.

Regards,
