Himachal Roadways, Baijnath
Non-allotment of seat & misbehaviou

The complainant is a central govt. officer presently posted at New Delhi, travelling between New Delhi - Chandigarh frequently mostly on weekends. In the morning of 25th of September I had reserved a ticket (No. 00709167, serial no. AC75926) from New Delhi to Chandigarh for the Ordinary Bus at HRTC, ISBT Counter, New Delhi. On the printed ticket only the departure time i.e. 1930 IST had been mentioned and no bus no.

I was advised to report at counter no. 7 on the ground floor of ISBT, Kashmeree Gate just half an hour before scheduled departure time.

I reached at ISBT at 1830 IST and reported at counter no. 7 accordingly, the person sitting at the counter told me that your bus has not arrived yet and you should report at about 1915 IST only. As per his advice I contacted the person and he advised to board Noida - Baijnath route bus no. 5019 of Baijnath Depot. Immediately I reported to the Bus conductor of said bus and he told me to take seat no. 10, but it was aleady occupied by someone else again I contacted the conductor, he took a good at my ticket and advised me to take seat no. 8 instead of seat no. 10. In the meantime bus departed for the destination. after running about half an hour it was at Karnal bypass. The conductor came to me and asked for the ticket, after having a perfunctory look at my ticket he suddenly told me that the ticket is not for this bus but, it is for the comming behind and you should board that bus. At in the meantime bus coming behind also arrived at karnal Bypass. The conductor of Bus no. 5019 forced me out of his bus almost pushingly. At this I was stunned and had no option but to baord the bus no. HP-64-0744, in which I managed to enter albeit reluctantly with all dificulties as there was no vacany in this bus and the same was overcrowded also. The conductor of this bus also told me that the ticket was not for his bus but any how he allowed me travel in same although in a standing position.

At Pipali stop both these buses arrived almost at the same time, I asked the conductor of Bus no. 5019 as to why he forced me out of the bus when there were more than ten seats laying vacant at that time in his bus. At this he got angry, aggressive and abusive, told me to go away and threatened me in full public view and also challanged me to do whatever you like.

Bottom line, here is that I was misbehaved, forced out of the bus notwithstanding the valid HRTC ticket. I could not imagine that I will have to go through such an ordeal in the hands of a rude, ill-mannered, obstinate and impenitent Bus conductor. I am mentally upset over his untenable, irresponsible conduct. Apparently it was a stark remiss on the part of your department and staff as well.

I request you to take a strict action against the said conductor which perhaps may inculate a sense of responsibility in him in the future.

Also you are requested to please return an amount of Rs. 142/-, the ticket money which was spent by me otherwise option of going to Consumer Court is open.

Hope this matter will be treated urgently and suitable action will taken against the guilty bus conductor.

Yours sincerely
