Poor Quality in execution and Delayed handing ove

I purchased a flat in Chennai from a reputed and famous builder. The work executed is of inferior quality and perfection in finishing is very poor in all the aspects. In spite of oral and written complaints, this company never bothered to complete the job. I belong to an ordinary middle class and I had to incur heavy loss. Please let me know whether whether I can go for claiming compensation.
