HP gas new connection

I am sanjay kumar residing in H-1/199 jahangir puri delhi-110033. The nearest HP gas Dealer is M/s smrity Gas Agency. I want to have a new Gas connection. But the dealer is saying that it will take 1.0 to 1.5 Year to get a new after booking. Can someone please explain that it is really such a situation
