Waiving off of my charges

I, REKHA .E.V own an ICICI Bank EMI Card whose details are as below.

As soon as I received my EMI card for which I had not applied, I started receiving promoting calls from ICICI Lombard Health Insurance, promoting their policy. I received this promotion call very frequently for 3-4 times in a week, in spite of my disagreement I was forced to take up the policy. In response to which I told them to send me the details of the policy in written format, i.e., by post. For which they told me that they will send me the policy along with the details I requested for. When I told them that I only require the details and not the policy, they assured me that they would send me the policy cards but would not activate it and asked about my personal details. For which I agreed.

This was in the month of February’08.

In a span of few days I received ICICI Lombard Health insurance policy with the details as below.

In the same month of February’08 I received my EMI Card statement which figured the ICICI Lombard EMI charges in it. I was shocked, because I was told that I would be sent the policy card without activating it, but I also started receiving EMI card statement with policy charges.

On 20th February’08 I called ICICI Lombard Customer Support department and asked them for the status of my policy. I was told it was activated. My conversation was with Mr. Sanket, Customer care executive, of ICICI Lombard department. At 7:10pm.

I explained him the whole issue and he assured me that action for cancellation of the policy would be taken up. I was given a Request ID: 304081815 and was told that within 11 working days my policy would be cancelled. Also in 2 working days I would receive a confirmation call.

In the due course of time I never received any confirmation call.

In the consecutive months I continuously received EMI card statements with ICICI Lombard charges in it also with other charges such as late payment charges.

Again on 7th April’08 I called ICICI Lombard Customer care department and had a conversation with Mr. Raj. I explained him the whole issue allover again and again I was given a Request No: 110508296. And was told that within 4 working days the issue would be sorted out.

In due course of time I received a letter from ICICI Lombard General Insurance stating that my Policy stands cancelled with effect from 3rd April’08. Scanned copy attached.

I was very much relived. But for my shock I continued receiving ICICI Bank EMI Card statements for the consecutive months.

Again on 11th May’08 I called ICICI Bank Customer care but I was told that I will have to speak to ICICI Credit card department. When I called ICICI Credit card department I was informed that ICICI Lombard has not intimated the ICICI Credit card department that the policy is cancelled or whatever is their formalities.

I was put in such a loop that each one was holding the other responsible for this issue. No one was ready to take out the responsibility and solve this issue.

I later had a conversation with Mr. Praveen of ICICI Lombard Insurance department on the same day at 10:05pm. I was told that the ICICI Credit card department would be contacted and all my charges relating to ICICI Lombard would be waved off. I was again promised that within 11 working days the issue would be solved, with the same Request No: 110508296, but all my efforts went in vain.

Till date I have been receiving ICICI Back EMI card statements with late payment fees, service tax etc.

In the statement of 16th September’08 it states that Rs. 2970.19 is the Total Amount due and Payment Date is IMMEDIATE. Also this month’s statement has come with an ATTENTION mark. The scanned copy of the statement is attached.

Again I contacted ICICI Lombard Health Insurance department putting forward this issue. But people there told me that ICICI Bank Credit Card department is responsible for these charges in the statement.

Upon contacting ICICI Bank Credit card department I was again given a Request no: 80735602 and was assured that I would get a call within 3 working days. But again I never received any kind of call from Credit card department.

So, all my efforts to solve this issue are going in vain.

I request you to kindly take up this issue very seriously and see to it that all my charges on EMI Card are waved off immediately.
