Regarding new connection problems

Dear Sir,

I resides in Chandigarh. I have visited two Indane Gas Distributor. First one in Sector-30C, M/S Ram Chander & Sons and the second one in Sector - 32D, M/S Punia Gas. Both of them were approached from August. None of them offered me connection. I had no connection in my name. I had all required documents.

M/S Punia Gas noted my name and address in a register. M/S Ram Chander & Sons had not noted anything.

They told that due to lack of Regulator they can not give the new connection.

On enquiry, both of them told that they will allot new connection only with Gas Stove.

M/S Punia Gas in this respect was flexible. It told that they will first verify the presence of ISI marked gas stove. But they told that it will delay the allotment by a week or more. But M/S Ram Chander & Sons told that they will not allot new connection without gas stove, which is against the rule.

It is to be noted that Government has given the instruction in July'08 itself for allotment of new connection. The Government order was not implemented. I have not been given connection by them till 10th October'08.

This type of behaviour of distributor is an indication of bad behaviour with the consumer and violates the consumer right.

It is being asked that "Why should I or Consumer like me be harassed in such a manner? "

It is requested to look into the matter and Distrbutors should be asked to serve the consumer in a better manner instead of harassing them or exploiting them.
