I was a passenger in the Trivandrum Mail (Trn No. 2623) on 02 August from Chennai. My seat No. was 10 in the S10 capartment. My old aged father-in-law (Sr. Citizen), my wife and two sons were also with me in the same coach.
The train started from Chennai at 20:00 hrs. We had fear in travelling in the train as there were lot of cases of bomb blasts and the previous days train incident happened in Andhra Pradesh.
There were many unauthorised travellers in the compartment including ticketless passengers. We felt difficulty in going to the toilets as the toilet area of this reserved compartment was jam packed.
No TTE or RPF personnel made a visit in the compartment till 22:45 hrs when a TTE came and awakened us for checking the tickets. I put up my complaint to him and insisted him to register the time of ticket verification in the ticket. He did too. He was not seen afterwards. He has not instructed the unauthorised passengers to keep away.
No RPF personnel or a TTE was found in the compartment till we disembarked at Tripunithura, Ernakulam.
A complaint sent to [email protected] got returned as the addressee not known!
With this incident I started wondering: "HOW RAILWAYS ENSURE SAFETY OF ITS PASSENGERS"
