I was desirous of traveling from Bangalore to Bhubaneswar by air on 20th March I visited my travel agent M/s.S.P. Tour & Travel of 22, Amartala Street, 2nd Floor, Kolkata-700 001 to purchase tickets for such travel on 1st February. During such visit I was advised by the agent after checking with M/s. Alams Travels that Jet Lite was operating a flight being S2 431 and that tickets were available on such flight.
Accordingly, on 2nd February I had booked two tickets having PNR No. H5R8P for travel from Bangalore to Bhubaneswar on 20th March (departure 3 PM) in Jet Lite Flight No. (S2) 431 upon payment of Rs. 5550/-. The said tickets were booked by me for myself and my 10 years old son Master Rishiek Shah. Upon booking the said tickets my agent had issued to me two e-Ticket having receipt nos-7055672418995 and 7055672418994 respectively and both having reservation No. XKNJZA .
On the scheduled day of travelling i.e. on 20th March when I reached Bangalore with my son and produced the said tickets at the Hindustan Airport (BLR) at Jet Lite Airport Counter to avail boarding passes I was shocked to learn from Jet Lite’s airport staff that operation of the said flight had been stopped some months ago. Jet Lite’s officers present at the Airport counter returned said e-tickets to me after endorsing a cancelation and full refund stamp on the said e-tickets.
I was in a shock and surprised to hear such statement from Jet Lite’s officers present at their counter at Hindustan Airport and requested the officers to provide some alternative flight to enable me to travel to Bhubaneswar but all my such plea was turned down by Jet Lite’s officers and they expressed their helplessness in the matter and they very rudely asked me to contact Jet Lite’s head office for any clarification in the matter and refused to speak with me in the matter.
I states that Jet Lite have issued e-tickets to me of a flight which is not in operation and have misrepresented me and have mischievously received net fare of Rs.5550/- form me for the same and have cheated me.
The said tickets were issued on 2nd February and the date of travelling was 20th March and in the mean while Jet Lite did not informed me about the non-operational of the said flight. Jet Lite have utilized my money and have made wrongful gain from the same.
Being harassed and finding no alternative I book two tickets on Air Deccan flight by paying Rs. 13, 340/- for two tickets and could reach Bangalore late by 1 and a half hours.
From the above it is clear that there is deficiency in services of Jet Lite.
By a letter dated 7th June I wrote to Jet Lite through my advocate narrating the above facts and demanded from them to redress my grievances. The said letter dated 7th June was duly receipted by Jet Lite but they did not responded to the same.
For the mental agony, depression and harassment and monetary loss caused by Jet Lite in the above manner I claims from Jet Lite as under.
Being cost of Jetlite Tickets:- Rs. 5, 550/-
Being the difference of amount paid to Air Deccan. Rs. 7, 790/-
Being compensation claimed for mental agony, depression, Harassment, and monetary loss caused by Jet Lite. Rs.5, 00, 000/-
Damages for being deprived of the use of the said amount of Rs.5550/- and further damages

I demand from Jet Lite the said sum of Rs. ¬5, 23, 340/- (Rupees Five Lakhs Twenty Three Thousand Three Hundred Forty) only. You are requested to peruse the matter with the Jet Lite authorities and help me in getting justice.
