My name is eliza sen. i used kaiser packers ltd, koklata whose headoffice is in new delhi to shift cargo from kolkata to mumbai. my husband was already in mumbai because of his new job posting. so i was alone with my 2 year old son when the cargo people came to take stuff. they had initially given me a quotation of 8500 rs for packing and had asked me how much insurance i want to do. i didnt have any major items except for my new lcd tv which we had bought from dubai and our musice system and printer which was also from dubai. we were in duabi for 5 years before shifting to kolkata.
so they charged me total of 12000 rs which was inclusive of insurance worth 50, 000 rs. when they delivered the goods in mumbai, we found out lot of damage including our lcd scren completely damaged. we checked up the cost to repair the tv with samsung company and they said, the scren would cost 30, 000 rs. when we claimed for insurance with the packers, they buyed time for two weeks and finally today ie 14th aug 09, they said that they havent done any insurance and the entire 12, 000 rs was for transportation. they just denied and cheated us. please help as lot of my stuff has been damaged includint printer, music sytem, clothes, books. around 70% of the goods are damaged. now i dont have any insurance proof as the bill which they gave me doesnt clearly state about goods being insured. since i accepted blindly whatever documents they gave me, i am at total loss now. how do i expose these cheats and also claim my money. please help.
