Icon not vanishing

Please help me solve my problem. I'm using an LG kp500 mobile. The problem with it is that an icon of message sending failed has started to display itself on the home screen even when there is no such message in the outbox. I've tried restarting my mobile and also reset settings option. But the icon is still there.
