I had been to kolhapur on 9th March. The temple is bit clean from outside but when i went into the Gabhara (the room where the idol is kept) i saw that it was very unclean. On the right hand side, at the top, of the idol there is a clock in which we cannot see even the numbers inside the watch. There is lot of dirt and filth inside as if the temple is not cleaned for many months. Mahalaxmi Mandir is one of the famous temple in India wherein thousands of devotees attends the temple. If we see the Siddhivinayak Temple of Mumbai, Balaji Temple or Sai Baba Temple at Shirdi, they are very clean and very attractive with good decoration of flowers.
As it is said that if a person is clean and good from inside he gives a good thing to the society. Similarly a temple should be clean from inside to get good things from it. Temple is a place of God and not of Human Beings. So we need to look after for the pleasure of God and then for us.
We are calling her MAA and we keep our Maa in such a bad condition. The donations received from the devotees is for god and not for human beings. Good donations are received by this temple but still such untidiness is found.
We people dont even care to think on such matters. We only see our difficulties and problems and our comfortableness.
So i request you to look into this matter. Please think on it.
