Gearbox crashed out, spent 1 lac, 4 months in Workshop- still unresolved

My Scorpio is about 5 years and 80000 Kms old. Actually I have driven it for 4.5 years because for the last 6 months I have been able to drive it barely for 2 months... rest of the times it has been in the workshop.

Last August the gearbox seized on the highway and I barely averted an accident. The vehicle got towed to Delhi spending considerable amount of money. The Dealer/workshop- Bhasin Motors replaced almost all gears and bearings but really could not identify why this happened. Of course the whole thing cost me a good Rs 70000 and the process lasted almost 8 weeks.

After taking delivery vibration and sound in Gearbox persisted and I had to take back the vehicle to the workshop.

This time they seemed to spend interminable time trying to understand why it happened and after writing to the marketing department of Mahindra, visit by their local representative I was advised to change the propellor shaft as well. So another 20000 Rs down... another 6 weeks down and I took delivery of the vehicle sometime in Late October/begining November.

I thought the problems have been resolved. But sadly some of the symptoms of vibration started surfacing again. Thus within 10 weeks and 6000 Kms after taking delivery from last repair, my poor vehicle was readmitted again to the workshop.

Seemingly some more parts were damaged, including parts that had been changed recently. Cracks had appeared in the gearbox housing. So they seemed to change another set of gears, shafts and bearings. Another 30000 Rs down and 6 weeks later I take delivery to find out that symptoms continue. The speedometer gear inside the gearb ox- that was recently changed, had been damaged.

The vehicle was back to the workshop. It has been there since last 4 weeks. No information on when its going to be corrected, no information on whats the problem, no information on whats Mahindra doing about this.

I dont know who to go to... who to talk to..

I had bought this vehicle for 8.5 lakhs 5 years back. In the last 10 months I have spent 1.2 Lakhs for the same problem in three different installments. Since August till now in April..I have driven the vehicle for barely 10/12 weeks.

Who do I turn to for help??
