Duplicate Parts and Deterioted Service at Authorised Service Station

Dear Sir,

Being from a family that has always owned cars manufactured by Maruti, I had never thought of writing this mail but unfortunately I am left with no other choice.

Myself Ratnesh Singhai, an owner of Maruti Wagon R Vxi (HR 26 AV 3511) which was purchased in January this year from Vipul Motors (Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon Showroom). Yesterday on 7th July I had given my car for its officially due second free service. Though there was nothing much required to be done in the car, its a single hand driven vehicle for the last 6 months and hence regular checking and cleaning was only required. However, to my utter disappointment when I went to collect the car from the authorised service centre of Vipul Motors Gurgaon, I found my car to be in a detoriated and dirty condition as compared to a fit and fine condition when it was given for service.

At the point of taking delivery of car the few points that I have noticed are:

* Mudflap which is supposed to be tight and in place was hanging loose (despite of this mentioned when the JOB card was prepared).

* The car seat covers, which normally are covered with cotton towels, are dirty and have black spots of some grease or paint. Similarly, the boot space was never cleaned during the entire washing.

* Few visible scratches on the car body (apart from one of those about which I know in advance)

* Last but not the least, 3 new thumb size dents on the car bonnet.

Sir, the biggest fraud that is then committed is to shift the blame and give lame excuses for the poor condition of the car and service. I was given reason that while pressing bonnet to make it close, everybody applies pressure so dents could be for that reason. Similar irrational excuses were given, rather than admitting the mistake and rectifying the same. Such an unprofessional behaviour towards customers is least expected from a reputed company like Maruti.

Also the issue regarding the genuine nature of accesories from Maruti Authorised Service Dealer and Showrooms is in serious question. Though I was never to raise this, but it seems it should also need to be brougt to your notice that the free accessories promised to customers while vehicle purchase are not original. I was informed, during my vehicle purchase, that from company I would be provided with Mudflap, Matts and Steering Cover. However, a single look and you can find out that these are not genuine. I dont know what needs to be done, as following that I have aborted my plans to get any new accessories fitted from an Authorised Maruti Station.

I am just surprised, that what has happened to Maruti quality and assurance. My father is having a Maruti Car to his delight for last 15 years and I found it hard to keep the same enthusiam for even 15 months.

Hoping against the hope to see some betterment. I have still not taken delivery of my car and it is still standing at your Authorised Service Station.
