I used Aakash packers for transporting my household goods from Mumbai to Delhi, Kolkata & Singapore in August. At the time of quoting for services the company (especially Mr. A. Mehta (GM of their Mumbai branch - the "kingpin") was very co-operative and their representatives acted as true professionals. However, once the goods were moved from my Mumbai house, they have done following mischiefs:
1. The goods delivered to Delhi were largely damaged. They insisted on signing the goods receipt voucher without metioning about the damaged goods. But we had mentioned this clearly on the receipt and they promised us to reimburse the charges for repairing the damaged goods. The bill was submitted to them in September. Its now more than 8-9 months, these people have not paid anything inspite of repeated reminders. I am currently based in Singapore and have spent more than Rs. 1000 in international calling to chase them for the payment of my bill. These guys are not even interested in talking to me. One so called Mr. Anil Sharma from their Pune office promised that bill wil be settled in November but nothing has happened.
2. They took all the money in advance, but did'nt inform that I'll have to pay extra charges for custom clearance in Singapore (over and above the delivery charges). I ended up paying about Rs. 20, 000/- extra in Singapore to get my stuff which was not informed to me earlier.
3. Some of the items which reached Singapore was badly damaged. Although they charged me for insuring the goods, they are not even advising how to claim the damages and all the items (especially the mattresses were stinking badly).
To summarize, Aakash Packers and Movers is a fraud company and I urge people not to use their service even at free of cost because your goods will be damaged and delayed.
