Wrong Price Tags - Misguiding Consumers

Yesterday (25-Sep-09) I visited the eZone electronics shop at Nirmal Lifestyles, Mulund, Mumbai. I wanted to purchase a portable DVD player and found the Mitashi Boombox Mx2007 very attractive aand affordable too. The Price tag was Rs. 2924/- and they had written that its a discount to the MRP Rs.4290/-

I decided to buy it as the sales executive told that this price is really attractive and he had already sold about 30 pieces.

So the next day (26-Sep-09), the first thing in the morning I took my brother along with me to the same eZone showroom.

We found the same large price tag mentioning 2924/- and so we ask the Sales person to bill it. After 05 minutes, the sales guy, absolutely confused, with his head down, said that the "PRICE TAG IS WRONG" as it had been wrongly printed 5 days ago.

We were absolutely disappointed and requested to call the "Manager". Unfortunately, the Manager was busy in a meeting and we had to wait for 15 minutes.

Then the Manager (Mr. Satish Gopalakrishnan) came and apologized that it was a misprint since 05 days and that was as communicated to him when the stocks had arrived.

He said that he could not do anything about it but tried to convince us that it was the "Company's Mistake" and NOT that of the eZone store. He said that the actual price is Rs.3990.

He also told that this was NOT THE ONLY product with WRONG price tag but there were many in"THAT LOT".

Its unfortunate to note such mishaps in a SUBSIDIARY of "FUTURE GROUP" which is said to be one of the largest retail giants in India.
