Denying Refund

I had purchased a Spice D1100 Handset from Mobilenxt.com on 18th September, which i received on 26th September. From day 1 the product had a few technical issues - battery drains out in 6-8 hours without usage. Battery gets hot while on long conversation and at times charging. The phone freezes in between and does not receive calls. If someone calls my number, the call goes through and they can hear the phone ringing but i do not see any call coming in nor it rings at my end. Hence i had requested them for a replacement or refund, which is as per there 7 day replacement or refund policy. I reported the problem on 2nd and i was told they would arrange for a refund. After multiple follow ups now they are asking me to visit the service center and ask them to look at the handset or replace it if possible. Why would i get a 7 day handset serviced. Now they are not standing by their 7 day commitment and giving me a run around.
