I was declared as one of the Winners of MSN/Yahoo Lottery videRef: XYL/26510460037/05, Batch:24/00319/IPD for a prize money of 500, 000.00 GBP.
Mr. Garry Davis (Events Manager), Payment and Release Order Deptt., Microsoft Windows XP E-mail [email protected] asked me to contact Fast Way Courier Company E-mail [email protected] for the purpose of delivering of my parcel containing my winning cheque to my home of residence in India.
As desired, I made desired payment of 40, 000INR to Fast Way Couriers Company for delivering of my parcel to my home of residence in India. Accordingly, on confirmation of receipt of payment, Fast Way Courier Company vide E-mail dated 05.02.2008 informed me that my parcel will arrive in less down 72hours to my home of residence and I was asked to remain ready at my home of residence with proof to prove my identity at the time of handing-over my parcel to my home of residence.
That when I was expecting delivery of my parcel to my home of residence within 72 hours, all of a sudden I was informed by Mrs. Vivian Ferguson.
Tax Department
Inland Revenue, London E-mail [email protected] that delivery of my parcel has been kept at hold and I was asked to ensure payment on account of non-residential tax being non-resident of UK while at the time of my declaration as well as asking payment on account of delivery of my parcel, no such demand of non-residential tax was imposed/raised while Yahoo Lottery authorities as well as Inland Revenue and Fast Way Couriers Company all were very much aware that I am the non-resident of UK.
That Inland Revenue vide E-mail dated 06.02.2008 asked me to ensure payment on account of non-resident tax in order to ensure delivery of my parcel to my home of residence, with the note that a Tax receipt will be issued to you along with the Tax Payment. This will ensure that your funds are not Taxed again by any Tax Authority {e.g the IRS}.
Yahoo Lottery Organization vide E-mail dated 08.02.2008 stated that same day payment is made on account of non-resident tax as desired by Inland Revenue, London, the same day my parcel will be delivered to me.
Though there was no prior condition to make payment on account of non-resident tax, however, on the repeated requests from all of you, I had ensured payment on account of non-resident tax.
When I was desperately awaiting delivery of my parcel consequent upon ensuring payment of non-resident tax as assured by you, all of a sudden, I received an E-mail dated 05.03.2008 asking me to make first payment of custom charges before delivering of my parcel to my home of residence.
I had requested vide my subsequent E-mail all of you to make available me the reference received by Fast Way Couriers Company from Custom authorities so that I could also be able to defend my case before them as I am not bound to make the payment and it is the accountability/onus of all of you to ensure delivery of my parcel to my home of residence, as assured by you. However, instead of complying, I am being asked to make unwarranted payment on reportedly custom charges.
From the above, it is crystal clear that you are accountable to ensure delivery of my parcel containing my winning cheque to home of residence without fail and without asking for any more money since I am not at fault any where and you had assured for delivery of my parcel to my home of residence immediately without any more payment.
It is added that such unexpected all unwarranted all of a sudden demands of payment of money time and again on one pretext or the other not only creating mental torture and imbalances for me but also malign your image.
It is significant to point-out that though I was not supposed to make payment. However, on your repeated assurances, I have so far made more than 200, 000 INR payment to get delivery of my parcel to my home of residence and I am not supposed to make any more payment.
Even if my parcel was registered as diplomatic parcel, it is the onus/responsibility of the Fast Way Couriers Company to get the same cleared from concerned authorities at its own cost and risk and ensure delivery of the same to my home of residence since Fast Way Courier Company had assured and committed to ensure delivery of my parcel to my given home of residence in India without any further charges/dues, etc.
The present stand of demanding more money on account of delivering my parcel to my home of residence of Fast Way Courier Company is an after-thought with malafide intentions.
I, therefore, request you to kindly intervene in the matter and please ensure immediate delivery of my parcel containing my winning cheque to my given below residential address in India.
