SUB: UNSOLVED LABOUR PROBLEMS ON NON- REMITTENCES OF P.F. AMOUNTS COLLECTED FROM THE WAGES BY THE EMPLOYER FOR YEARS TOGETHER - REG.

As I felt that this is the right situation to enlighten all our labour problems to one and all who are thought to be at higher positions in solving our problems. Sir, in and around our Tuni Municipal Area, some Cashew Processing Units are there. In these units, thousands of workers have been working for years together. All Workers/Labourers are skilled/unskilled and most of them are illiterates. And they get their wages on piece-rate for their necessities. All most all the units are doing well by resolving their problems now and then emicably and to the utmost satisfaction of the workers/labourers.
Among all the units, one particular persons’ units [complete addresses of these units are furnished below] are doing harassment on labourers like anything, by adopting their crutial, inhuman and unwanted methods. At present, just by asking their PF refunds, labourers who previously worked in that so said units are facing atrocities and utmost problems by these units-managements. While working in their units for years, management used to collect the amounts from the wages on having said to be employees contribution for provident fund remittances. Many more labourers who met me, have not been given their even PF account no. or else. Despite of many more requests, darnaas, gheraavs, -- managements of these units seems to be very reluctant by taking this issue very simple. It is highly solicited that departments have to respond properly on this issue. This is unfortunate to say that till date we could not get the information whether these employees contribution[collected from the wages], alongwith employers contribution said to have been remitted to PF accounts are really remitted or not. Particulars of the so said units are given below.

After having discussed with all the executive bodies of my beloved unions, I am compelled to complain on the above units that are behaving to our utmost intolerable levels. Hence, I humbly request your good-self to be kind-enough to go through the material being written below…….
Being an executive/active/responsible member of my unions, first amd foremost, I like to say that I am supposed to enlighten all about the behaviour of the above mentioned units in regard to the labourers/workers. Under their management, every year minimum 3.0 crores of turnover being maintained in each unit. In that turnover, according to the statistics, it is said that more than 8% is supposed to be paid for wages [ on piece-rate]. So, [3.0x8%] Rs.24 Lakhs are supposed to pay. In that total wages of Rs.24 lakhs, employees PF contribution will be @ 12%., means [24lakhsx12%]Rs.2.88 lakhs. Every year this amount was collected from the workers.
In [No.1] M/s. Bhagyalakshmi Cashew Industries, which is said to be working from 15 years. If we take figures from 1994 to 2007 for 14 years, it will be [2.88x14] Rs.40.32 lakhs. In the same way, the above mentioned [No.2] M/s. Vanka Agro Foods, which has been working for more than 6 years. If we take figures from 2003 to 2007 for 5 years it will be [2.88x5]Rs.14.4 lakhs. On having clubbed both the units Totally [14.4 40.32] Rs.54.72 lakhs might have been collected from the labourers itself. Employers contribution is excluded from the figures arrived.
On computation for 15 years, if employers contribution is incorporated, along with the interest which is supposed to be given to the labourers at the time of refund, total figure will go to minimum of Rs.2.0 crores.
It is hence clear that that-much huge amount, which is meant for workers, has been eaten by the management. More over, they are creating unwanted and unhealthy atmosphere among labourers.
Hence, I am humbly requesting your good-self, to do needful, on priority, for my beloved labourer members. For your kind perusal, I can attach all the copies of documents represented by my labourers, whenever required.
