Fraud in Bill

Airtel is pathetic. I have taken broadband connection from it a year ago, and I was given a telephone (fixed line) along with it. For one year everything was sort of okay, no major complaints I must say, but my Feb'2009 Bill was a surprising revelation. The moment I saw the total bill amount I knew something was fishy, and when i looked into the call details I found 80% calls were made to numbers belonging to that part of the country where i never usually call or have called in the past. I dont have any friend, relative or business in that part whom the calls were made to. The most surprising element in the bill was continuous calls everyday for 15 days, when I was out of station with my family and the house was locked.

I called up customer care and told the problem, i even said that i can produce proof that I was away so I could not have made a call from the landline. Every logic fell into deaf ears, no one was cooperative from Airtel side, they kept of insisting the the bill is okay and I might have given the house key to someone who actually used it. More problem, the ghostly calls kept occurring even after I came back from vacation.

The only option remaining for me now is to stick to my principles and dont pay them and take the matter to consumer court or meekly submitting to their fraud.

I chose the first option! the story goes on...
