I am using Airtel prepaid card. On March 11 9:00 PM I received three continuous SMS from Airtel Number 543214.I just opened first SMS immediately 30 Rs deducted from my account.
First SMS content is
“Congratulations! You have subscribed to Background Music and Rs20 has been charged. Now talk to anyone with your favourite music in Background. Just dial 57775”
Immediately I called customer care 121 and asked about this stupid thing, they said this service will be activated if we open the SMS. And to unsubscribe this service we have to call the same number from which the SMS sent. But it is not free call Airtel is charging 1.50 Rs per minute. I didn’t want to do it from my side. So I logged complaint. Two days on Mar13 around 5:05 PM the service has been deactivated after I called customer care and asked about it, though the money not been credited to my account. Again I called customer care (121) they logged complaint and it is expected to be solved on Mar 17th end of the day. But I was not convinced so I asked call centre executive for customer care email id. He given me the Airtel web site and asked me search, finally that call terminated by him.
I am going to wait till Mar 17th. If it is not solved I want to take this issue legally. If any one knows how to approach the things further please tell me.
Friends don’t open and SMS coming from 543214 or any similar number.
