The Power supplied by BESCOM, apart from being unreliable is also unusable or what is called "Dirty Power" in other countries. The Voltage fluctuates from 200 volts to 265 volts during the day. A 65 volt fluctuation in power points to very very bad engineering. Apart from bad engineering, other causes could be Illegal Power Taps for heavy machinery. Why can BESCOM not investigate and fix such problems? Only they know the answer - which is quite dubious. In other words, inspite of heavy expenditure by tax payers on the power infrastructure, we consumers in karnataka still live in old times (about 50 years behind in technology) and Karnataka as a state belongs in the Third World with Biafra and New Guinea and other such african countries.
