Delay in processing the passport application

I have applied for passport in T Nagar Post office on 16/02. The status of the passport processing is not yet known. When I contacted the passport office they intimated that the application has not yet got registered. Hence I requested post office the details for the delivery of the same. They have given me in writing the date of delivery as 08/03.When I contacted Assistant Passport Officer for details, the details for the delay in registration could not be revealed properly by him. This is the case of the most of the public who applied in the post offices from the month of January. As I have to write GRE exam in the month of the June, I request you to do the needful.
