The All Orissa Computer Programmers Association (AOCPA) today threatened to continue their cease work agitation till the government declared them as government employees.
Mr Mohanty said 344 computer programmers had been working in every block and DRDA since 2003. Though they were working for 12 to 15 hrs per day their salary had increased from Rs 5000 in the begining to only Rs 9300 now.
He said though all of them were Degree Engineers but their salary is less than the salary of a class IV employee.
He said due to their hard work Orissa was recognised as the best state in the country in the E-governance sector.
Mr Mohanty said though they had played a major role in the computerisation of Block, DRDA and Gram panchayat but still the government was not ready to consider their demand.
