I am a resident of Bathinda and studying in UK. I was studying in UK and came to know that i can drive a car on international driving licence for one year in UK. I traveled back to India to get the licence so that i can drive a car. I worked hard and managed to get the licence after two weeks from the authorities after long harassment.
The suwidha didn't had the form for the international licence and the DTO was on vocation. I managed to meet ADC regarding the matter and he managed to contact the transport office for the help. I was being told to come next day for the driving licence form as the new DTO has changed the format of International driving licence. The very next day i managed to meet DTO next day and got the form but was told that he just have one form and i have to get it photocopied and fill it. I did the thing as said and i filled the form and never bothered to check the spellings on the form and the written format as it was an official document.
After hard work of two weeks i managed to get the licence and traveled back to UK. Whereas the rules says that we get the international licence in one day. Any how i came to UK and tried to register the international licence with the authorities but was badly criticized for the licence i have got :-
* First of all the very first line on the licence says" THIS PERMIT IS NOT VALID FOR THE TERRITORY OF INDIA" where as it is an international licence.
* Second mistake on the licence which creates a blunder is the spelling mistake "RUPUBLIC OF INDIA" where as it is an international licence and reflects the image of India.
* The next thing on the valid up to date was not written in the space provided but was written under it.
* The next thing was that on the licence the details were hand written which are not as per international standards.
* Even number of spelling mistakes were highlighted by the authorities on the licence.
Even the National licence which was provided by the bathinda was to be shown to the authorities and they highlighted that it was not cut properly and they said that for the authentication of the licence i need to provide them a letter from the DTO which indicates that both the licences are issued by the bathinda authorities and the international licence should be as per the international format and must not be on the photocopied paper.
I wanted to bring this matter in concern and wanted to file a complaint against the authorities as it took me 3 to 4 weeks in all this procedure and i wasted my money time and the outcome was zero. I want that i should be compensated for the money i spent, harassment and time i wasted but was not rewarded for it. I even want to make sure that nobody else faces these problems in future and face a shameful day in their life to listen such words for their country.
The evidences can be provided if requested and promised that the action will be taken against the culprits.
