Passport sill in process from last 6 months

Respected Sir/Madam,

I applied for passport on 15-09 with application no. HYD-W360558-11. my Date of birth is 03/May/1960. Till now i didn't receive my passport. the online status in showing as "The police report has to be received".

when i asked the police they are saying the application not reached to police station.to whom i have to believe.i suspect the police men telling lies.

what i have to do further. its already 6 months past. i need my passport urgent. Please do a needful help.
