I applied for re-issueing my passport at the passport seva kendra on outer ring road near Bellandur on 18-Feb. As per the official website and the seva kendra officials, a normal passport application should be served and the passport should be despatched within 1 month.
But till date (4th May) I have not received it and when I checked the application status online, it said that 'GRANT' has been provided on 30th of April and has been sent for police verification.
Now, to understand what this GRANT is, I called up the seva kendra toll free number. The person explained me that there is a granting officer who sits in the passport seva kendra and this grant is supposed to be given on the day I applied for it. But it took them more than 2 months (where it is supposed to take only a few mins).
Now I have no Idea whether the delay is being caused at Regional Passport office or at the seva kendra or if its being held at the SP office for police verification.
