Dear Sir,
My name is Suman Patwal (File no. BN1061278088310). I had applied for passport on 28/09 and yet to receive any information about when I would be able to get my passport.
On checking Passport Seva Kendra's website and speaking to phone rep; "I am always told that the application is gone for police verfication." I have checked with SP office in bangalore, who have told me that the application has been downloaded by local police station (Vidyaranyapura) however when I go to the local police station, they tell me that it is yet to come to them.
When I have referred this to passport seva kendra, they tell me they cannot do anything about this. They do not have any mechanism / procedure to followup with Police to check on the progress. They say they have done their job.
So I request you to please let me know who can tell me clearly where the application resides. It has already been 6 months and I feel the application has been lost. The least the passport office can do is resend the application to Police. Or worst, reject it so I can apply again.
To conclude I would like to mention that - they said the passport seva kendra will make life easier for general public but it seems they do not have any powers what so ever.
