Security Deposit

I am a tenant of Chitrakoot Apartments (Entrepreneurs GGHS) in Sector 22, Dwarka. I have paid 2 months security deposit to my landlord are required. In addition to this, the society management is asking me for a security deposit of Rs.10000/- to be paid as part of paperwork to the Society Management. As a tenant, i would like to understand my rights. Can such a security deposit be enforced by law by the society management, which has nothing to do with the deposit to the landlord?
