BRIEF
We put in our hard-earned money in the building of our home and our Architect Chakresh Jain and Contractor Surendra Arora of a company called Friends Associates cheated us by not doing the house as per a mailed agreement (I have a signed copy too) and then when they realized that it was too hassling to rectify the issues... they just dumped us. They do not even take our calls anymore.
As a result we are spending
a) extra money for getting work redone and
b) money to finish the project.
They also took some money for the Occupation certificate which after they left ..had to be followed up by us, which of course we did!
P.S- whenever we highlighted any issue they would promise that they would rectify it. Finally when we realized they have so much money on their side we called them for a meeting with the help of an Architect friend. We wanted to show the points for rectification but they simply did not turn up for the meeting and sent a text..."meeting is cancelled". Post which they vanished. This happened on the 14th of June.
We thought of first sorting out our Occupation certificate and house work and then taking this matter up. So much of our hard-earned money has gone waste... it really pains. Hence trying to create awareness of cheats like these.
CURRENT SITUATION & DETAILS (We have rectified some issues and are still rectifying). We also have pictures as proof of the work spoilt.
1. All the plumbing work had to be redone i.e pipes, wc etc were leaking (even had to buy more pipes and replace one of the WC's as they had broken it). The overhead tank lid is missing so have to replace it. Most of the pipes were blocked resulting in seepage.
2. Wiring of the house had to be redone as they had not put enough wires...(our electrician is now doing it)
3. Servant room and bathroom was incomplete..(wc broken etc)
4. On the 2nd floor the window isn't straight, some skirting is incomplete, The Bathroom tile slope was in the opposite direction so had to redo that as well.
5. We had to change the moulding of the whole house (it was a disaster).
6. The Mesh doors had to completely redone. (2 doors we need to throw as they are useless).
7. We had to put fastners on most doors as they were shaking (they haven't even put in a basic holepass).
8. Bathroom mirrors were left unfinished. We have ordered new ones now.
9. The chimney pipes are to be around 6 inches..they have installed 4 inch pipes... which means a lot of cleaning hassles in day to day life.
10. Glass work is incomplete... had to get some of the pending work done now.
11. They were to also do an anti-termite treatment which they did not. We discovered some termite just last evening so spending money on the same again.
(I may have missed out a point or two as the rectifications seems endless).
We want these guys to know that it's not fair to cheat anyone like this. It is extremely stressing as we had to raise extra funds plus the ordeal of putting our house in order.
