I am staying at hyderabad. It is an apartment with 7 flats and a penthouse on fourth floor. I have given 2 months advance and one month rent in advance to my landlord in Nov. Since then I have been paying the rent of every month in advance. I have asked him a receipt for the deposit amount and the monthly receipt for rent also, but he is denying for it. Furthermore, he increases the rent by his own will, no rule and regulations. If I make a complaint regarding some problem in appartment, he straight away says to leave the flat. I was in 1BHK on 3rd floor, now I am willing to shift in 2BHK on 1st floor in same appartment. I have some problem, so I cannot change the flat for another 6-8 months.
Some issues have been there between the landlord and the other tenants regarding rent and deposit. Now, few days back the landlord has appointed a person to take care of that appartment. That fellow came to us saying that "everything is messed up and no proper records are being maintained, so the landlord has appointed me to take care of the building". After few days he told me "Amit, you have given only a months advance and not the rent in advance, you are paying rent at the end of the month". Now I fear that he will definitely make a mess of it, when I leave the appartment He can even say that you have not paid any advance. Kindly guide me to what should I do.
