Recently I visited Tirupathi and as usual the temple was swarming with crowd of around 5 lakhs people. Though the TTD trust has ensured cages, queues are perfectly done, they dont manage exactly at 2 most important points of entry:
1. When a cage is opened, there is no one to control the crowd. And as expected the crowd goes haywire and its almost a stampede when you get out of the cage. The queue takes its time to form and till then people go mad running here and there to get out of the cage. Cant there be a few security personnel deployed near the cage entrance so that people can move out of the cage in a queue and in discipline manner. This is very important so that kids are protected and also there is no stampede.
2. Again the entry near the Lord's gopuram is so badly managed. As the queue ends suddenly everyone is let in through the doors. There is no control or staff personnell there to help people get into the temple without difficulty. Even here kids are literally squeezed and its so dangerous to move with the crowd where there is noone to control them. But you find so many security before the Lord to push the people from viewing. If security could be there they should be there at every entry point of the queue.
Though crores of money is spent to construct cages, queue complexes, TTD fails to deploy security and safety to people at the the most important points of entry in the temple. This should be taken care.
