Subject: Illegal establishment of Shiv Bricks, Mirjapur Chand, Begusarai
Sir,
With due respect I inform you that M/s Shiv Bricks, (Vill PO: Mirjapur Chand, PS: Barauni, Distt: Begusarai, Bihar) has been established in agricultural land without no objection certificate from Bihar Pollution Control Board, Patna. It violates many pollution control measures. These are
1. The preferable distance from the residential area as well as fruit gardens should be 500 m while it is around 200 m from fruit gardens and ~300 m from residential area. It is affecting the health of residents as well as fruit yields.
2. According to Notification S.O. 979 (E) published in 27th August, a brick industry within a radius of 100 km from coal or lignite based thermal power plant should use at least 25 % of fly ash while this unit is not using even 1 % of fly ash while Barauni Thermal power Plant is around 20 km away from the location of shiv Bricks. The fertile upper layer of the soil is being used for brick moulding. Consequently, many acres of fertile land has been converted into ditches.
3. There is no toilet facility in this unit. Therefore, brick moulders litter in the neighbouring fields.
The establishment site was inspected by Sc. I/C. Regional office, Barauni. But till now any action has not been taken against this unit. Therefore, I request you to take a legal action against this unit.
Thanking you
