Hello,
I went to renew the passport today at Thane office in Maharastra. During this
process I also requested to change the address with providing recent proof
of Electricity bill, Gas bill and flat maintenance receipt which contains the
details of my current address.
The office REJECTED saying that you should have bills starting from one year
back to till date. I have prepared with all documents as said in your site.
Is that requirement or he was expecting some bribe from me? I came back with
doing giving single penny.
This caused me one day waste, So i need to visit again there tomorrow..
As per the site&-quot;http://passport.gov.in/cpv/checklist.htm" i am pasting the
contents:
(a) Proof of address (attach one of the following):
Applicant’s ration card, certificate from Employer of reputed companies on
letter head, water /telephone /electricity bill/statement of running bank
account/Income Tax Assessment Order /Election Commission ID card, Gas connection
Bill, Spouse’s passport copy, parent’s passport copy in case of minors. (NOTE:
If any applicant submits only ration card as proof of address, it should be
accompanied by one more proof of address out of the above categories).
Please revert me as soon possible.
