FRAUD, CHEATING, POOR SERVICE

I am making a serious complaint of one of the well known company in tourism MAKEMYTRIP.. I see the advertisement of this company on various channels which saddens me further. This company has a little focus on giving service to tourist.

The sequence of event of my case are as under.:

1) I have booked Hotel The Denzong Shangrilla, Gangtok on 21 April for 4days. The copy of TICKET HOTEL is attached. The ticket is fully refundable on cancellation if booked before 22nd April. This is clearly printed on ticket. One of the reason to purchase this ticket was that it is fully refundable on cancellation.

2) We checked in as per schedule on 1st May. The rooms allotted were not delux rooms. On our protest out of two room one room they converted in to delux room.

3) There was not water in Bathrooms in the Hotel in Morning. We have to take bath with buckets of water brought from here there.

4) On 3rd Morning we had to go to zero point. We wanted to vacate hotel for one day. We talked to Mr Ranjeet of Customer Care of makemytrip for cancellation of booking for one day. After checking he informed as per terms of booking cancellation is possible. He requested us to get a letter of cancellation from hotel. We got the letter and copy is attached as denzongpdf.

5) We have clearly discussed with Managing Director of Hotel Mr Soumya Ghosh. He agreed. He said that refund will be made by makemytrip. He allowed us to cancel the booking for one day 3rd may and kept our baggage in his hotel. We told him that next day on 4May again we will be returning to same hotel. He said that Hotel is fully booked and probably he will have to accommodate us in other hotel as Denzong is fully booked.

6) Both Mr Ranjeet and Mr Soumya Ghosh never told us that refund is not admissible. Else we would not have taken the trouble of vacating the room and keeping the luggage in lock room.

7) We returned on 4May. Hotel Denzong has made arrangements in nearbye hotel and we checked out on 5 May. Mr Soumya Ghosh has maintained that money will be refunded by makemytrip.

Now makemytrip is refusing to honor our claim of refund.

They are finding defact in our booking which is fully refundable on cancellation siting reason of promotional code which was not there any way on net at the time of booking. You please read our ticket booking paper which clearly says that ticket is refundable on cancellation. That is what was interpreted by Mr Ranjeet and Mr Soumya Ghosh. This was the reason they allowed us to cancel the booking on 3rd May.

I am attaching a cancellation letter of Hotel Denzon which hotel has given us for getting refund from makemytrip. Now Mr Soumya Ghosh it appears refusing to honor our claim of refund.

I request you to take my case as case study as so many tourist are being treated like this by makemytrip. Please search on net and you will find at 1000 complaints like this. I am taking up this complaint not only for money. I want that makemytrip should have efficient system of handling tourist grievances.

I request you treat my complaint in broader perspective so that poor tourist are save from such poor service
