Awful experience during stay at hotel

I would like to share my experience at the PineBrook Hotel at Laban, Shillong during our stay there for 2 nights in January. The person at the front desk, Rahul was very rude from the start and his behavior was unacceptable since the time we arrived in the hotel.

At dinner time we were given seats at a small cramped place with little room to spare when the actual dining place was almost empty. However these complaints are rather insignificant compared to what we had to face later on.

The next day while we were sightseeing in Shillong, our bags were rummaged and when we came back a necklace and a Rs 100 note was missing. When we complained about this to the manager in charge he said that he would look into this matter. We have stayed in hotels all over India and also abroad but had never faced such a situation.

Earlier we had requested two room heaters since the temperature was about 4-5 degree C at night. Only one was provided and the other one was given the next day. So we had to spend an uncomfortable night in our room shivering in cold.

When we left after staying for 2 days the necklace was given back to us (apparently it was found under the bed by the hotel staff even though we never found anything after doing a through search ourselves).

Please stay away from this hotel. They are rude, their staff rummage your belongings while you are away and indulge in stealing. Don't ruin your holiday by staying at PineBrook, Shillong.
