i opened a fixed deposit of Rs.10 lacks on 10/03 in your Brookfield branch of HDFC BANK.
The deposit was for one year @ 9% per annum. The fixed deposit a/c no14726820000020 and the Customer ID- 29511251. After opening the deposit i handed over the 15g to one Mr. Mahesh who received the 15g and said he will do the needful. On 4th April i left for USA and returned on 30th March back in Bangalore. When going through my Account statement i found that TDS has been deducted from my FD interesr. When i approached Mr. Mahesh of HdFC and asked why the TDS was deducted? The answer he gave was that since Centurian Bank was taken over by HDFC they had not taken action. I am surprised by his answer. I requested him to reverse the TDS deducted and inform hdfc head office and do the needful but he has flatly refused and says he cannot help in this matter.
I request the HDFC to enquire this matter and do justice to me. My TDS deduction to be reversed. I have also made a complaint to the Branch Manager Mr. Sashi who heads the Brookfield Branch of HDFC in Bangalore where i hold my FD..Please do the needful to reverse the TDS deducted as early as possible.
