Bangalore traffic police
Signal Jumping

Hi,

Yesterday I was going to ITPL via KRPuram. I took a right turn and was asked by police to stop the car who were standing in shade on the sideroad. I had right signal and there was no other vehicles in sight. Actually I was moving past them, when they noticed it is a lady driver and asked me to stop the car. I had a Kerala registration. Though I paid tax, I havent changed the number plate as I am planning to move back to Kerala. Thinking they want to ask about this I went to them. Senior office sitting on bike asked me for driving license and when I talked in English started scolding me for not learning Kannada. After checking my license he asked me to pay Rs200. When I argued that I had the signal and hasnt done any violation, he said I need to pay money if I have to get the license back. Finally I had to pay the money. Last 1 weekI have seen traffice police in every corner of the city stopping vehicles. Has the traffic police been asked to raise money for government by harassing the citizens.
