I was having a credit card of barclays, which i used only once and made timely repayment.
The repayment cheque was collected late by them and they have been levying intt charges on that one time transaction.
The card was never again used after that transaction.
The timely payment was made via account payee cheque to barclays and dropped in the drop box at the authorized showroom by barclays.
The cheque was collected late by Barclays, and since then they have been levying interest charges on the amount and harassing me with demanding payment of the same.
Then one day i got a call from Barclays customer care asking me to settle the account and make a one time payment against the amount outstanding and get the account with them closed, some matrix recovery agent was sent to pick up the money and give me a receipt for full and final payment and after the credit of the amount to the account the company was supposed to issue me the letter of settlement, this all was said by the customer care executive to which i complied and the said agent gave me a eceipt with" full and final settlement" written on it.
I never got the statement or letter form the company as was promised, instead a few months later i get a call asking me to make the payment to close the account and avoid my CIBIL report form going bad.
I told them that i had made a payment earlier, as was asked by their customer care, to which they accepted having received the amount, but the account had not been closed at their end, now again they are demanding payment.
I am being harassed and i do not know whom to trust, this is causing me much mental disturbance, i am a widow and have children to support and this mental agony i am being subjected to is hampering with my work...
