Non stop of cheque payment

I have issued a cheque for Rs 10000/- to aparty i requst bank to stop payment with a written request to stop transaction of my a/c for some period but refused to accept my request because i have not remembering cheque no. but amount, party name i have mentioned causes me loss for Rs 10000/- persued the matter with bank h o but answer like written application not given suitable instructions given to staff etc i
