Income tax deduction, a fault

My husband late shri Rampal singh, A/C IRLA no.6495 in CRPF, a police madal for gallentary awarded in 1999.

According to ministry of finance vide their notification no. So.1048 (E) dated 24/11 exempted income tax to the recipients of gallentry madals under sub clause (i) of clauses (18) of section16of income tax act 1961.

so it is a fault to deduct income tax by his salary please solve this matte
