I have home loan account with DHFL since 2008. and they will charges more interest rates. So, we want to foreclose this account.
so to save my money, I want to change my home loan fron dhfl to other bank. But dhfl is chraging 3% prepayment penalty on this. According to rbi's circular, hfcs cant charge a prepayment penalty to customers whose loan is floating rates even if money used to prepay the loan is borrowed from a bank or a non-banking finance company. I was gone in dhfls office which is in Kota Gumanpura to take the closure outstanding report. In that report, they not mentioned any prepayment penalty charges on 29 march and after they mentioned the 3% prepayment penalty charges (foreclosure report date 26 April) and it's around rs. 1, 53, 000/-. I was talk with Mr. Manish (account officer of dhfl Kota- Gumanpura office) that, as per rbi circular you cant charge the prepayment charges, but they are not accepted this rule, I also show him the news which was published & on internet. After that they said that they have not received any circular to them from rbi. Thay said u have to pay the 3% prepayment charges.
So please help me to resolve this issue.
